Baiheliang Underwater Museum

Located on the Yangtze River in Fuling District of Chongqing, Baiheliang is a natural stone ridge carved with 165 sections of Tang-to-Qing stone inscriptions and 18 stone fish water gauges, recording 1,200 years of Yangtze water level data and earning the title "Underwater Forest of Steles". Built with an innovative pressure-free container protection system after the Three Gorges impoundment, the museum consists of an above-ground exhibition hall and a 70-meter underwater viewing tunnel with transparent observation windows, allowing visitors to closely appreciate original underwater cultural relics without diving. It integrates precious hydrological records, ancient calligraphy, poetry and stone carving art, recognized by UNESCO as a global model for underwater heritage protection.
