Located in Chenghua District, Chengdu Zoo is one of Southwest China’s largest and oldest urban zoos and a national popular science education base. Travel Tips
- Take Metro Line 3 directly to Zoo Station for easiest access; the zoo is close to urban downtown with convenient transportation.
- Opening hours: 08:00–16:30 (April to November), 08:30–16:30 (December to March).
- Do not feed, tap the glass or shout loudly to avoid disturbing the animals.
- No flash photography near animal enclosures to protect wildlife vision.
- Visit in the morning for the most active animal behaviors, especially giant pandas.
- Prepare 2–3 hours for a complete half-day tour of all core exhibition areas.
