Located in Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, Chiyou Jiuli City is a national 4A scenic area built to inherit Jiuli tribal and Miao culture, hailed as the Oriental Miao Capital. Three core landmarks including the Nine Gates, 99-meter Jiuli Palace and 24-meter Jiuli Divine Pillar have won Guinness World Records. Layered wooden stilt houses climb the mountain slopes, adorned with Miao totem carvings of ox horns, butterflies and bronze drums. The scenic area hosts grand Chiyou sacrificial rituals and intangible cultural heritage shows such as walking on knife blades, alongside streets featuring Miao silver ornaments, batik handicrafts and ethnic food. Integrating grand ancient sacrificial architecture, vivid folk customs and mountain riverside scenery, it is the core landmark to experience authentic Miao civilization in southwest China.
