Located at the confluence of Li River and Peach Blossom River in central Guilin, Elephant Trunk Hill is a national 5A scenic spot made of ancient limestone karst. A natural arch named Shuiyue Cave forms between the hill and its trunk, creating the famous "Water Moon of Elephant Hill" landscape with countless ancient cliff carvings preserved inside. The hilltop Pagoda of Universal Mercy overlooks the whole river view, and the surrounding riverside park features lawns, walkways and viewing platforms. The scenic area opens free of charge to all visitors, though ring lake bamboo raft rides and other experience items require separate fees.
