Forbidden City

The Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum, is the world's largest palace complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built from 1406 to 1420, it served as the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The complex covers 180 acres and contains 980 buildings with over 8,700 rooms. It is divided into two main sections: the Outer Court for ceremonial purposes and the Inner Court as the residence of the emperor and his family.
