Expanded in the 14th century, it once served as the ancient local administrative and military headquarters. It is famous as the Zongshan Anti-British Relic Site, the landmark that earns Gyantse the title of Hero City, where local people fought bravely against foreign invasion in 1904. Standing on the highest platform, visitors can overlook the whole Gyantse town and Pelkor Chode Monastery. It is paired with Baiju Temple and Palha Manor for a one-day Gyantse cultural tour.
