Golden Whip Stream is the central water valley inside Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, fully included in the 4-day valid Wulingyuan general entry ticket. The gentle flat trail runs alongside crystal-clear running water, shaded by ancient trees all year round. Classic landmarks such as Golden Whip Rock, Painted Screen and Swallow Nest sit along the stream. It is known as the "natural oxygen bar" of Wulingyuan, suitable for leisurely hiking to enjoy quiet primitive mountain scenery without steep climbs.
Travel Tips
- No extra admission fee; entry is covered by the Wulingyuan park general ticket.
- The whole hiking route stretches 7.5km, taking around 2.5 hours on foot with no sightseeing vehicles inside the valley.
- Stone paths stay damp and slippery after rain; wear non-slip walking shoes and avoid high heels.
- The valley maintains cool temperatures even in hot summer, ideal for escaping summer heat.
- Do not wade into the stream water or litter to protect the original mountain water ecology.
- Bring portable drinking water; only a small number of retail stalls are scattered along the trail.
