About
The artificial hill was built with soil excavated during the construction of the Forbidden City. Wanchun Pavilion on the hilltop marks the highest point of central old Beijing, offering a spectacular 360° panoramic view. Visitors can overlook the golden rooftops of the Forbidden City, the Bell and Drum Towers to the north, Beihai White Pagoda to the west and the modern CBD to the east. It features five elegant ancient pavilions and the grand Shouhuang Hall complex, combining profound imperial history and outstanding cityscape photography opportunities.
Travel Tips
- Real-name reservation is recommended via official WeChat account; tickets are also available on-site
- South Gate faces the Forbidden City’s Shenwu Gate; arrange your itinerary to visit Jingshan after touring the palace
- Subway and public transport are preferred; parking spaces around the park are limited
- Wear non-slip footwear; mountain paths have stone steps and can be slippery after rain
- Wanchun Pavilion platform gets crowded on weekends; move promptly after taking photos
- Drones are banned within the whole park area
- Shouhuang Hall and Guande Hall are closed every Monday except public holidays and require separate free reservation
- Arrive one hour before sunset for ideal lighting over the Forbidden City
- Peony blossoms draw large crowds in mid-April, with adjusted ticket prices during the flower festival
