Jiulong Waterfall (Nine Dragons Waterfall)

It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot and reputed as the No.1 Great Waterfall of Huangshan. The waterfall stretches 600 meters in total with a vertical drop of 300 meters. Originating from Tiandu Peak, Yuping Peak and Liandan Peak, the stream cascades down the cliff between Luohan Peak and Xianglu Peak in nine folds, forming nine connected waterfalls and nine deep pools, known as Nine Dragon Ponds. After heavy rainfall, surging water rushes down like nine white dragons descending from the sky. The canyon retains ancient glacier relics, dense bamboo forests and clear emerald pools. Core attractions include Dragon Maiden Pond, Dragon Chan Temple, Meilin Study Ruins, Double Pine Trees and the Observation Platform for full waterfall views. The historic Qianlong Imperial Path runs through the valley, once an ancient hiking route to Huangshan. It combines spectacular waterfall landscapes, primitive canyon ecology and historical relics, and serves as an ideal pre-hike warm-up destination, summer retreat and waterside photography spot for tourists visiting Huangshan Mountain.
