About
Situated in Lushar Town, Huangzhong District of Xining, Ta'er Monastery is one of China’s six major Gelug Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, built on the birthplace of Tsongkhapa. The complex features grand golden-roofed halls, white pagodas and courtyards, and its three unique artistic treasures—thangka, mural and butter sculpture—attract tourists and pilgrims all year round.
