Laojun Mountain Scenic Area

Taoist temples were first built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, earning it the reputation of "Top Taoist Mountain in Central Plains". The core peak stands at an altitude of 2217 meters, famous for its grand golden-top Taoist complex built on the cliff, often dubbed "Fairyland on Earth" and "Heavenly Palace in the mortal world". Different from ordinary mountain scenic spots, it perfectly combines profound Taoist cultural heritage, magnificent granite peak forest landforms and unpredictable sea of clouds sunrise and sunset views. The absolute core highlight is the Golden Summit Temple Cluster with golden glazed roofs, which presents a stunning fairy-tale effect when the lights are turned on at dusk. Other classic spots include Shili Huaping Ten-Mile Painted Screen, Mazhang Ridge viewing platform, Laojun Temple, South Heavenly Gate, Yaochi Golden Palace, as well as supporting ecological valleys of Zhui Meng Valley and Zhai Gou Valley.
