Laoshan Scenic Area

Covering 446 square kilometres, it is divided into several independent sightseeing zones: Taiqing‑Yangkou‑Liuqing‑Huayan, Jufeng, Beijiushui and Hualou. Granite grotesque rocks, steep peaks, limpid mountain springs, cascading waterfalls and coastal ocean panoramas create its unique mountain‑and‑sea landscape. It boasts profound Taoist heritage, once home to nine palaces, eight temples and seventy‑two nunneries. Taiqing Palace, Laoshan’s oldest and largest Taoist temple, preserves ancient cypresses and time‑honoured religious architectures. Core highlights include Jufeng Summit for sea‑of‑cloud sunrise, Taiqing Palace, Longtan Waterfall, Shouzifeng Peak, Mitiandong Cave, Yangkou Bay coastal vista and Beijiushui’s stream‑pool valley. Some zones feature soft beaches and forest trails, while northern Beijiushui showcases mountain creeks and rock pools without sea views. Blending spectacular coastal geology, Taoist culture, hiking trails and natural wilderness, Laoshan appeals to hiking enthusiasts, cultural visitors, family travellers and nature lovers.
