Lingering Garden (Liuyuan Garden)

Famous for its exquisite compact spatial layout and sophisticated borrowing scenery techniques, the garden is divided into four distinctive zones connected by a 680-meter winding covered corridor: the waterside central core area, the grand hall-dominated eastern zone, the wild hill and maple forest western zone, and the pastoral bonsai northern zone. Its most iconic treasure is Guanyun Peak, one of the three most marvelous Taihu stones in Jiangnan, towering in the Eastern Hall. With delicate hollowed lattice windows, layered rockeries, pond reflections and ancient wooden architectures, it represents the peak craftsmanship of Jiangnan classical garden design and the oriental philosophy of "seeing grand landscapes in a tiny space".
