Travel Tips

• No regular public transportation can reach Tarqin Town, the starting point of the scenic area.
• Visitors can only travel by self-driving, chartered off-road vehicle or organized group tour.
• Apply for a full-coverage border pass in advance, as Ngari belongs to the border defense zone
• Prepare portable oxygen tanks, thick waterproof down jackets, thermal gloves, lip balm, high-SPF sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses
• For visitors planning the kora trek, conduct a full physical examination beforehand
• Avoid running, fast climbing and heavy load carrying to prevent severe altitude reaction
• Halt all activities once dizziness, chest tightness or vomiting occurs
• Strictly follow the designated marked trekking trails
• Do not step onto unstable glacier zones, loose gravel slopes or cliff edges to avoid ice collapse and falling rock accidents
• Maintain absolute quiet near prayer flag piles, Mani stone stacks and monasteries out of deep respect for local religious beliefs and pilgrims
• All garbage must be carried out of the protected zone to safeguard the fragile high-altitude glacier and alpine ecosystem
• Drone flights are restricted in border protected areas and religious core zones
