About
The thoroughfare was reserved for emperors travelling to Jingling Palace for sacrificial rituals. Archaeological excavations uncovered original stone road remnants of the Southern Song Dynasty, which are displayed under transparent glass at the exhibition hall. Designed by architect Wang Shu, the block blends ancient Jiangnan architecture, Republic of China western-style buildings and flowing water landscapes. Core landmarks include Drum Tower, Phoenix Mosque, Southern Song Imperial Street Exhibition Hall and century-old local shops. Connected directly with Hefang Street, it carries profound Song-dynasty culture and authentic civilian vibes. It is a favoured spot for city walks, Hanfu shooting and tasting traditional Hangzhou snacks.
