The three-story main building contains 57 rooms, including scripture halls, reception lounges and luxury living quarters, fully displaying the privileged life of Tibetan nobles. The attached serf courtyard, workshops and ancient punishment tools form a sharp contrast, serving as a vivid historical museum for learning about Tibetan social history.
Travel Tips
- Take a short taxi or drive from downtown Gyantse to reach the manor
- Bring a border pass if continuing the trip to Everest or border counties
- Move slowly to avoid altitude discomfort at 4050 meters elevation, apply sunscreen and wear sun glasses for strong UV rays
- No flash photography inside exhibition halls and cultural relic rooms
- Follow the marked visiting route, keep quiet indoors and do not touch displayed historic items
- Drones are prohibited over the ancient building complex for structural safety
