Travel Tips

• Tourists aged 70 and above enjoy free entrance tickets by presenting official identity certificates, only required to buy the 70 CNY shuttle bus ticket.
• High altitude easily triggers altitude sickness. Walk slowly without running, jumping or heavy physical exertion; carry portable oxygen tanks if you feel dizzy or short of breath. Avoid drinking alcohol and hot baths on the first day arriving in Shangri-La.
• Wooden lakeside boardwalks become slippery after rain and accumulate thick snow in winter. Wear non-slip thick-soled hiking shoes; slippers and high heels are forbidden for safety.
• The mirror lake reflections of Shudu Lake are most stunning on calm, fog-free mornings before 10 a.m. Strong afternoon winds create ripples and ruin photography effects.
• Bottled water, snacks and hot meals sold inside the park are overpriced. Bring sufficient drinking water and light energy snacks before entering the scenic zone.
