Located inside Jing’an Sculpture Park in downtown Shanghai, this top-tier natural history museum covers over 32,000 square meters of exhibition space and houses nearly 300,000 natural specimens ranging from giant dinosaur skeletons, ancient marine fossils to global wildlife taxidermy. Travel Tips
- It closes every Monday (open on national holidays); opening hours are 9:00–17:00 with last entry at 16:00
- Book tickets and popular theater shows online in advance via official WeChat mini-program; bring ID cards for check-in
- Take Metro Line 13 to Natural History Museum Station (Exit 1) for the most convenient access
- Tripods, selfie sticks and open food/drinks are forbidden inside exhibition halls
- Free stroller and luggage storage service is provided at the entrance
- Reserve at least 3–4 hours to fully explore all galleries, starting from the top floor and walking down the spiral ramp
