Shapowei

Centered on the crescent-shaped typhoon shelter dock, it perfectly preserves the original look of an old Minnan fishing village and has evolved into a trendy cultural and artistic block. The core landscape features weathered wooden fishing boats moored in the calm harbor, clustered Minnan red-brick dwellings, and the striking visual contrast between nostalgic old fishing architecture and the towering Shimao Twin Towers in the background. Shapowei Art West District, renovated from an old fish oil factory, gathers creative galleries, handcraft workshops, niche cafes, designer boutiques and themed bookstores. The waterfront boardwalk, Mazu Chaocong Temple and local seafood stalls carry the most genuine grassroots life of old Xiamen.
