About
Located in Panyu District, Shawan Ancient Town was founded in the Southern Song Dynasty. It preserves hundreds of Ming, Qing and Republic-era Lingnan buildings with unique oyster-shell walls and wok-ear roofs. As a famous hometown of folk arts, it boasts rich intangible heritage including Cantonese music, dragon lion dance and Piaose parade. Most alleys are free to wander, while combo tickets are available for core ancestral hall exhibition halls.
