Travel Tips

• Wear comfortable non-slip walking shoes. Stone steps become slippery after rain, and many sections are steep. Elderly visitors can take the paid mountain shuttle up the hill.
• Strong ultraviolet radiation at high altitude, carry sunscreen, sun hat and sunglasses for daytime climbing. Night viewing has cool wind, bring a thin jacket.
• The golden viewing time is sunrise and sunset; fog often covers the mountain top on rainy mornings, blurring the old town scenery.
• Do not cut across grass slopes or climb outside stone railings for photos, as steep drops pose safety risks. Keep close watch on children at cliff viewing decks.
• Street vendors sell overpriced bottled water and snacks on mountain trails. Bring your own drinking water before climbing to save money.
