Signal Mountain Park

Standing merely 98 meters above sea level, this national AAA‑level scenic spot is celebrated as the prime viewpoint for Qingdao’s iconic cityscape of “red‑tiled roofs, green trees, blue sea and azure sky”. Its name derives from a historic maritime signal station erected atop the hill to guide harbour vessels. The park’s most recognizable landmarks are three striking red‑mushroom‑shaped observation towers on the summit. The tallest tower accommodates a slow‑spinning rotating observation pavilion, offering visitors full 360‑degree panoramic views without moving. From the hilltop, visitors overlook sprawling German‑style villas, St. Michael’s Cathedral, the Former Governor’s Residence Museum, Xiaoyu Hill Park, Zhanqiao Pier and the Yellow Sea. Other major highlights include the Love‑Lock Linked‑Heaven Bridge, Five‑Dragon Pool fountain and multiple open‑air viewing terraces. Lush vegetation and winding stone‑paved trails spread across the hilly grounds.
