Integrated with snow-capped peaks, dense spruce forests, alpine lakes, cascading waterfalls and vast Kazakh grasslands, it enjoys a cool microclimate in hot summer, known as the back garden of Urumqi. Travel Tips
- Drive by private car, join group tours or take long-distance buses from Urumqi South Bus Station
- Bring lightweight warm jackets as mountain temperature is much lower than urban area
- Wear non-slip hiking shoes for rocky paths and wooden boardwalks
- Take the mandatory scenic shuttle bus for long-distance site hopping
- No off-trail hiking, swimming or open fires to protect forest ecology
- Fly drones only in open flat zones and follow scenic management rules
- Store enough drinking water and snacks for limited catering inside
