About
Located on the west bank of Li River in Xingping Town, Yangshuo, Xianggong Mountain is a top viewing platform for karst landscapes. There are over 500 stone steps leading to multi-layer viewing decks, only a 15-20 minute easy climb to the summit. From the peak, visitors capture winding Li River, rolling peak forests, morning mist and golden sunset. It is a world-famous photography base, with pre-dawn opening for sunrise and cloud sea viewing. On-site adult tickets cost 60 RMB, with cheaper advance online reservations available.
Travel Tips
- Visitors aged 65 and above get free admission by presenting original identity certificates.
- Mountain stone steps are damp and slippery at dawn; wear non-slip sneakers and avoid high heels.
- Strong wind and big temperature difference on the summit; bring a thin jacket for early mornings.
- No trash cans on the mountain; take all waste down to protect karst ecology.
- Do not climb over guardrails on viewing platforms for safe shooting.
- Check weather forecasts in advance; cloud sea is most likely to appear after rainy nights.
- Free parking is provided at the foot of the mountain, yet parking spaces fill quickly during sunrise and sunset hours.
