Yanmen Pass Scenic Area

Known for the saying “Among the nine great frontier fortresses, Yanmen ranks first”. For over 3,000 years, it witnessed countless battles between central‑plain dynasties and northern nomadic powers. Major sites include grand ancient city‑gate complex, barbican, border‑trade street, Zhenbian Ancestral Hall, beacon‑tower ruins and preserved sections of ancient Great Wall. Stories of General Yang’s army and historic frontier heroes are presented here. Tourists come for Great‑Wall‑relic sightseeing, frontier‑history learning and fortress‑landscape photography.
