Destroyed in 1860, the preserved relics, especially the Western-Style Palaces Ruins and Great Fountain Ruins, carry profound historical memories. The park consists of Yuanmingyuan, Changchun Garden and Qichun Garden, featuring vast lakes, lotus ponds and ancient relic sites. It combines natural wetland scenery with historical heritage, serving as a vital site for historical education and landscape sightseeing.

- Metro Line 4 Yuanmingyuan Station is recommended; parking supply is limited on weekends
- Wear comfortable walking shoes; the scenic zone covers a large area with long distances between attractions
- Do not climb, touch or damage relic stones and ruins
- Drones are prohibited throughout the park
- The Western-Style Palaces Ruins and indoor exhibition halls close every Monday (except public holidays)
- Consider sightseeing shuttle buses or lake ferries to save physical strength
- Lake cruise services may suspend in heavy wind or thunderstorms
