About
The longest tributary of Li River in Yangshuo, Yulong River stretches 43.5 km through karst peaks, bamboo groves and rice paddies. The riverside footpaths, ancient stone bridges and villages are open to visitors free of charge; only hand-rowed bamboo raft rides are charged by full raft. Multiple rafting sections are available, with no motor boats allowed to preserve quiet pastoral scenery. Visitors can also cycle along river banks to view primitive countryside and ink-wash mountain reflections.
Travel Tips
- Visitors aged under 1 meter or over 70 years old are forbidden to take bamboo rafts for safety concerns.
- Book raft slots via official WeChat account 1–3 days in advance during peak seasons, as on-site tickets often sell out quickly.
- Wear slip-resistant flat shoes; riverbanks and stone bridge surfaces get slippery after rain.
- Bring waterproof bags for phones and cameras to avoid splashing water while rafting.
- Do not trample farmland or litter along river shores; protect the rural ecological environment.
- Store valuables securely on bamboo rafts, and follow the poler’s safety instructions at all times.
- Thunderstorms may suspend raft services temporarily; check official notices before heading to docks.
