It is a highlight on the classic Ngari Middle Line self-driving route.
Travel Tips
- Only accessible by high-clearance SUV, chartered off-road vehicle or group tour
- Prepare a full-coverage border pass for border checkpoint inspection
- Slow down all movements to prevent altitude sickness at over 4400 meters
- Wear waterproof boots, warm windproof coats, strong sunscreen and polarized sunglasses
- Stick to solid salt flat paths; do not step into muddy brine areas or mining restricted zones
- Drone flight is allowed on open flat ground, stay away from mining facilities
- Carry all garbage out to protect the fragile salt lake ecological environment
- Fill up the fuel tank fully in advance, as no gas stations are available on the remote route
